The algae cultivation system is a form of aquaculture or alguiculture that is oriented by the cultivation of species of algae , and many of the cultivated algae or most of them are in the classification of the microalgae category, and among them are microphylls and phytoplankton.
For their part, macroalgae, commonly known as algae, also have different industrial and commercial uses. However, they are not as easy to grow on a large scale as microalgae due to their size, therefore they are harvested directly from the ocean.
It is definitely and will always be essential to protect our environment and all the natural resources that exist on our planet, in fact, making correct use of them helps move towards an attentive and conscious lifestyle.
Activities like the on C Level Executive List es we will mention below can help achieve these objectives:
precision agriculture
cellular agriculture
Aquaculture
A solution that can be put into practice and work from an environmental and economic point of view is water aquaculture. This algae cultivation system with “CERBERUS” shows an interesting approach to autonomous harvesting and optimization of ecological resources.
Algae cultivation system
The aquaculture vessel 'Cerberus' navigates the waters autonomously to collect and develop an algae cultivation system.
Algae are considered a nutritional food source for both humans and animals, as well as a valuable resource for:
medical technology
D prototyping
The production of electronic fuels
Textile processing and many more.
But while research currently tends to focus on its processing and use, contemporary concepts for efficient cultivation are still lacking.
This is where 'Cerberus' comes in with an interesting concept that promises to make algae farming much more efficient and environmentally friendly in the future. Created by industrial design student Bernhard Büttner from the HTW University of Berlin, Cerberus takes shape as an ultra-modern aquaculture vessel shaped like a catamaran (to increase its stability) that explores the waters autonomously to extract algae without polluting the water or depleting aquatic life.
The Cerberus boat is shaped like a catamaran to sail through the waters calmly and its collection system is based on extracting algae, filtering its contents, so that it enters on board or is stored for future use. This is done using capsules specially designed to be anchored to the seabed.
Algae cultivation system
Algae cultivation system: “Aquaculture” with an autonomous catamaran.
Although there are underwater farms that grow herbs and vegetables cheaper under the surface of the water , aquaculture or aquaculture permanently marks a trend and is represented by algae.
Cerberus will initially be a semi-autonomous system, according to the developer's intentions, and as you evolve its artificial intelligence, it will move with complete autonomy to collect raw materials in a sustainable and non-polluting way.
Instead of growing algae in disposable synthetic fiber nets, Cerberus uses buoys with adjustable radii carried by specialized vessels.
